Our Therapy
Services

In recent years, the importance of mental health and well-being has been well publicized, but despite those efforts, many people still underrate how deeply a broken mind can affect us.

Whether this is in our day-to-day life at work or school, in our relationships with family, friends, and lovers, or just in how we think and the decisions we make, it is important to understand how much a healthy mind can improve our quality of life.

It might not seem like it, but talking to a psychologist or psychiatrist about the things affecting your mental health can provide a lot of upside for you. After all, these are healthcare professionals trained to treat the mind. Whether you’re dealing with serious burnout from work or school, addiction, depression, anxiety, and so on, you can leave feeling much better than you did when you came in.

How Do I Know If Therapy Is Right for Me?
We all feel negative emotions to some degree during normal life, but it can be hard for the average person to tell when it has gotten to the point where they might need to get help. If you notice that your symptoms last for too long, such as several weeks at a time, or if you can’t identify a specific trigger, therapy can help out a lot.
Try your best to observe the way you’re feeling and your behavior. If you notice any of the following symptoms, then it is a good idea to consider talking to a therapist for help:
  • You suddenly isolate yourself and don’t like to be around other people
  • You find it hard to do things that you usually love
  • You feel fatigued and seem to have much lower energy levels than usual
  • Your eating habits have changed, either by stress-eating or not eating as much as you should be
  • You are irritable and minor things annoy you more than they should
  • Something just feels off about your emotions and mood
  • You are considering hurting yourself in some way

What Conditions Can Therapy Take Care of?
There are a lot of symptoms that can indicate that you might need to see a therapist to get help and feel better. These symptoms can indicate many different conditions, and if you have been diagnosed with any of these or think you have them, getting help can do a lot of good.
These conditions include:
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Addictions, whether to drugs, gambling, sex, etc.
  • Major life changes, like the death of a loved one or a life-changing injury
  • Personality disorders
  • Relationship issues
  • Eating disorders

How Does a Therapy Session Go?
If you have decided to come for a therapy session at our medical spa, you might be very interested in how a usual therapy session goes. This can help remove any anxiety you might have regarding your first session, which is usually different from subsequent ones.

The first time you come for a therapy session, your therapist will usually want to tell you everything about what your therapy sessions will be like. They will also want to know about what you expect from the session, answer any questions you might have, tell you all about confidentiality, and more. As a result, the first session might not get to the core of your problems in a similar way to later sessions.

The good thing is, once that’s out of the way, there’s not much to worry about when it comes to these sessions. Most of these will last about an hour and it is just like having a conversation with a knowledgeable person. Your therapist will ask you different questions to figure out what lies behind the issues that you are experiencing and figure out a way to help you move past them. This is the key to how therapy can help you become more like the happy person you were before.

Is Therapy Proven to Be Effective?
Here at our medical spa in Beverly Hills, we have had countless clients come in for therapy sessions with our experienced psychiatrists and psychologists, and in most cases, a patient leaves feeling much better than they did when they came in. You might even know a few people who have had therapy and seen great results from it.

However, it is understandable that you might not want to rely on anecdotal evidence, and that’s fine. There’s plenty of scientific evidence to show that therapy works!

According to the American Psychological Association, there have been hundreds of studies that have taken a deeper look at psychotherapy and been able to show that 3 out of every 4 people see some benefits thanks to their treatment. You will almost certainly find yourself feeling much better than you did before.
