Phisiotherapy

Aging is natural, and as it happens, it comes with a lot of changes in the body that most people see as undesirable. Our joints become stiffer and we find it harder to move as freely as we once did, and there are also many changes to the skin which make our age more obvious than we would want it to be.

When we don’t look and feel our best, it can hurt our self-esteem. Thankfully, physiotherapy for the muscles and bones serves as a way to get us moving closer to how we did when we were younger. On top of that, there are also many therapies you can undergo at our Beverly Hills, CA, medical spa that can provide a lot of aesthetic benefits for you.

How Do These Procedures Work?
At our medical spa in Beverly Hills, CA, we have many different therapeutic processes that aim to improve the cosmetic appearance of your body, particularly your skin.

However, these processes mainly aim to achieve this by activating your body’s natural healing processes at the molecular level. The benefit to this is that the results tend to last longer, be more natural-looking, and do not involve any potentially toxic substances being injected.

What Can Our Therapies Do For You?
If you want to use any of our cosmetic processes to improve your appearance, we have several options which can do a lot of good for your skin and body. These perks include:
  • Optimizes the texture of your skin to allow for an even look in important regions
  • Can be used to get rid of any imperfections on the skin that affect your self-esteem and appearance, such as scars, hyperpigmentation, cellulite, and stretch marks
  • Helps to reduce any inflammation of the skin (dermatitis) and decrease swelling of the underlying tissue
  • Boosts the body’s natural immunity and metabolism

What Therapies Are Available?
The benefits above are desirable to most people, but they worry about the procedures they need to undergo for these effects. Fortunately, there is no pain or discomfort with any of the procedures our facility uses, as they are all non-invasive, utilizing electric currents or ultrasonic vibrations to achieve their effect.

Skin Galvanization
Skin galvanization is a process that uses a gentle electric current to massage the skin to improve the penetration of cosmetic products, as well as to reduce inflammation.
This procedure uses a tool that has a blunt blade on the end. When switched on, this blade conducts low-voltage electricity which is run across the skin to massage it. This current is set to a precise voltage which helps increase blood flow and activate repair processes in the tissue that is targeted. The best part is that there’s no pain or discomfort involved in skin galvanization, despite electricity being involved.

This process can be used to reduce inflammation in the skin, which makes it perfect for people who are suffering from acne. However, it also has the benefit of allowing for better penetration of any products applied to the skin, which is why it is frequently performed after applying certain cosmetics to the face.

Desincrustation
Desincrustation is a process that uses an electrical current to treat oily skin.
Oily skin can be a major problem for many people. Not just because of the way it feels and makes the skin look, but because of the complications it can cause, like clogged pores, blackheads, and acne.

Desincrustation is a cosmetic procedure that can take care of this and the way it works is rather straightforward. The skin in the targeted region is covered with a liquid that contains dissolved table salt, or NaCl. This makes the skin appropriately conductive, after which a device that gives off electrical currents is applied to the skin.

When this electricity runs over the skin, it softens the sebum in the pores and allows it to come out very easily. This is better than most similar methods because, unlike cosmetic products, the action of the current essentially goes through to the bottom of the pore, allowing for deep cleaning action.

In addition, desincrustation also helps optimize the function of the sebaceous glands which produce the skin’s natural oil, which can help people who have excessively oily skin.

Microcurrent Therapy
Microcurrent therapy uses a small electric current to provide a tightening or lifting effect on the targeted regions of the body.

As we age, the effects of gravity on the skin become more evident. Skin begins to sag, wrinkles start to appear, and the skin becomes much looser. For symptoms like this, many people opt for traditional invasive cosmetic procedures like facelifts or injectable fillers. However, not everyone wants to have to deal with a scalpel or needle.
The good thing is that microcurrent therapy can provide a similar effect without the need for any form of surgery.
The way this works is two-fold. The electrical currents from this procedure reach the muscles, where they are able to induce contractions and improve muscle tone. This helps lift the skin over these muscles, especially when done on the face.

However, the second way microcurrent therapy works is by stimulating collagen production in the skin. Collagen is a substance that is essential for structure and rigidity in many tissues, including the skin. When this collagen is produced, it helps restore elasticity to the skin.
The two mechanisms through which this therapy works generally result in skin that looks tighter, more firm, and more youthful than before.

Phototherapy
Light can do a lot of good for the body. It is used to treat babies with jaundice, serves as a great source of vitamin D, and more. However, when given the right way in precise doses, phototherapy can benefit the skin too.
Cosmetic phototherapy makes use of an LED light which is made to target a specific wavelength or frequency. This usually results in a red or blue light that is used to warm the skin in a controlled manner.

This light on the skin warms it up, which results in more blood circulating through that part of the skin. With increased temperature, the metabolism of the cells in the tissue also increases, which generally improves the well-being of the tissue as a whole.

Whether you get red light or blue light therapy tends to depend on the effect that you want on your skin. Red light is great for achieving an anti-aging effect, while blue light is superior for acne treatment, though it should not be used in combination with Accutane.

Ultrasound Therapy
Most of us are familiar with ultrasound. This technology emits sound waves at a very high frequency and is primarily used for visualizing internal body structures and fetuses. However, ultrasound waves can also be used to improve the health of the skin.

When ultrasound waves are applied to the skin, they cause vibrations that might not be quite noticeable, but they are there. These vibrations cause an increase in temperature in the tissue that is targeted, which in turn, causes the metabolism of the cells in these tissues to increase too.

When the metabolism of cells is increased, there are many merits that the skin can derive from this. First off, it means that they get rid of their waste products faster, which allows for healthier cells and skin. It also increases the production of collagen and elastin in the skin, which tightens it and helps reduce sagginess.

This means that ultrasound therapy at our Beverly Hills medical spa can be used to achieve less saggy skin, with fewer wrinkles, scars, and stretch marks. Your skin will simply look much healthier than it did before!
